Goldfinch Goes East: Birds on a Wire Festival & The Red Room

Yes, all the way to Pullman, Washington. On March 26th/27th Larson Hicks of Stereopathic Music presents Birds On A Wire, a folk music festival all the way the heck in Pullman.

We hear amazing things about Larson, and have been hoping to head out East to join one of his amazing bills for a while now. Here’s what Sound On The Sound has to say about Larson & the festival:

“Happening March 26th and 27th and taking place on three stages within walking distance of each other on Pullman’s main street, the festival is an outgrowth of a series of Birds on a Wire shows Hicks did last year with some success, which itself was an product of his need for his underserved area to realize it’s musical potential. Hicks is not a corporation like Live Nation, just a guy with a dream to make his town as fun as it can be, and on the leading edge of a localism movement that is now even reaching the music business.”

And the line-up: Justin Townes Earl, Damien Jurado, Joe Pug, Rocky Votolato, Horse Feathers, Sera Cahoone, Frontier Ruckus, Al James (Dolorean), Laura Gibson, The Maldives, The Moondoggies, Super XX Man, Cataldo, Goldfinch, Karli Fairbanks, Pablo Trucker, Mike Kelly, Hueco, Samuel Dickison, Tony Kevin Jr., & Low-Fi.

Before that, though, we’ve booked a last minute trek out to the Tri-Cities, in Kennewick, next week to play a show at The Red Room with our friends, the amazing Drew Grow & The Pastors’ Wives. It’s on Friday the 19th of February and is $3 in advance/$5 at the door.

Come out East with us!
